Bespoke Innovations is the brainchild of industrial designer Scott Summit and orthopedic surgeon Kenneth Trauner, a duo making positive change in the medical prosthetic industry via 3D printing & 3D scanning.
Bespoke’s case studies are incredibly inspiring – one man lost his leg in a motorcycle accident 20 years ago. Upon meeting with Bespoke he commissioned a carbon fiber prosthetic that would complement his Harley and tattoos. The hybrid human/machine aesthetic that emerged is so striking, he’s often complimented on the street about how cool his leg looks.
Rather than trying to imitate flesh which, given the accuracy of human sensory perception, is redundant and comparatively futile, Bespoke turned to art, fashion, and body adornment, thereby celebrating form.

“Each of our bodies is unique, as are our tastes and styles. Humans are anything but one-size-fits-all, and we want to recognize that fact. Our hope is to enable our clients to emotionally connect with their prosthetic limbs, and wear them confidently as a form of personal expression.”
